Description

Thrilled to post this spectacular commission by Eric W. Meador. It was an awesome experience working with Eric and his art rep, Kirk Dilbeck. Both are super-friendly and very easy going. Eric keeps you updated along the way and often, with in-progress photos and detailed descriptions of his thought process. Highly recommended.

The only description I gave Eric was, besides the 70s versions of the 4 cosmic heroes, I related a story that I saw a large fish tank with a group of colorful fancy goldfish emerging from the darkness of the waters. Was a very striking image (to me, LOL), and one I didn’t think I was able to adequately convey. Well… Eric absolutely nailed it, resulting in this beautiful work of art.

By the way, this is an enormous piece, almost 26x40”. Can’t wait to get this beauty hanging on my wall. If you like it, contact Kirk about getting your own commission. I hope to have Eric start a 2nd one of Thor and friends.

I did feel a little guilty that I may have constrained Eric’s artistry a tad on this commission; he likes to add a visual twist and tell a story in his art. My request was a lot more generic than that; but he added some unique and really cool visual bits. That and I was a pain-in-the-ass about all the costumes. He nailed them!

Each character shown at their best in this explosion of cosmic powers! Incredible display piece with all the wall power that the size can carry!
