Love how the establishing shot draws you in with the black shadows directing you to the walking figures.  And of course the close up of Axa and the slice through the water is genius, you don't even realize you are being tricked by this effect because the brontosaurai are so engaging.  

An exceptional page, so well designed.  I can see why it was featured on the cover.

Cool DPS!  In case you didn't notice, the "scum" crawling out of the bar is Fixx from Dreadstar.  Nice little Easter egg.

Great page, Tom!  Very cool that Captain Marvel and Warlock stopped by to sign the treaty. By the way, I am pretty certain this page was inked by Starlin.  

I believe this is a prelim.  It's a complicated design and probably required some planning.   I've seen the finished inked piece and it has visible pencils on it.  But still very cool!

Fantastic painting! Starlin was/is an awesome and underrated painter.  I like his painted art as much as his line work, wish he kept painting, but that scarcity makes pieces like this even more desirable.

This is a deceptively cool page. I love the Egyptian architecture and the storytelling/design is top-notch.  Damn, I wish I had pulled the trigger on this page, but congrats on a great pick-up!

Starlin did an awesome Hawkman and this is a great example.!  The main figure is killer! Really wish he had the opportunity to do more with the story but unfortunately, his reboot seemed to go nowhere.  And congrats on an excellent hammer price.  

Kirk, you & I love some of the same books from our youth.  Didn't know you had this one.  It wasn't but it's the earliest Marvel I recall purchasing. 

I was fortunate to see this in person back in the early 90s.  A very happy Glen Danzig had just purchased it at an Oakland Wonder Con and showed it to me.  It's a beautiful page and Oliff (presumably) did a tremendous job on the coloring.  Definitely a pry it from my cold, dead fingers kind of page... belated congrats!

Seeing pages like this, with the crappy printing back then, I sometimes wonder why so much effort was expended.   Not to mention the crappy page rate and lack of freelancer's benefits. They must have really loved the work, the artistry.  An amazing page.  

When I see pages like this, I'm reminded of how much sheer drawing talent those old, almost forgotten guys had.  Fantastic page with gorgeous inking.

Amazing page, Shaun!  Love Drax's face, very close to how Starlin would draw him in those early Captain Marvels. And I'm as green with envy.

This drawing makes me wonder if he planned to do the whole first Thanos saga in Iron Man, especially considering how big a role the Controller had in the early issues.  I'm sure it would have been great (he was on creative fire), but very different without Cap.  Would Tony Stark have gotten cosmic awareness?  :)
