Great page! Matt Banning is by far my favorite modern Starlin inker. His pages rock!
That is so cool! The freak brothers are awesome but love me some Wonder Wart-Hog. How's that for getting on your nerves?!?! lol
A dream page, with my favorite Kirby inker.
Great pickup, Rick. From the era when I was devouring all things Conan. Thorne's Sonja is the gold standard.
I love the great Warlock story pages and this is one of the best, featuring Adam's internal struggle with his vampiric Soul Gem, foreshadowing his potential transformation into the evil Magus. Really great pick-up!
Fantastic cover! I loved the old Marvel black & white magazines and the cover paintings were always a treat.
Your brother is very talented and this is very cool. Perhaps one day, you'll get to see the Starlin painting in person. Happy New Year and happy colllecting!
Amazing piece of comic book history! Not to second guess the master but I like the unused figure better.
Awesome of course. Warlock looks great and Pip has never looked better!
Wow gorgeous dps! Admiring this has inspired me to read the series. Amazon will get more of my money.
I love Kirby's art for his 2nd stint at Marvel. His use of blacks is so powerful and expressionistic. Forget the coloring, incredible in b&w.
Hi Marcus, Happy New Year and thanks for your always astute and prolific comments! Although I believe that's not an afro but his bulbous head. :)
Another great Starlin page, I love the composition. Kicking myself for not going after this one 🙂, but congrats on the score.
Very nicely designed page, one of my favorites featuring Annihilus.
Congrats on a great illo and more importantly having great friends!
Fantastic page, very memorable, the climax of the awesome anniversary issue. Looks like no coal in your stocking.
A masterpiece!!! I'm as green as Death's maidens, with envy.
Wow, what an amazing portrait, bravo to the King!
This is a fantastic DPS, one of the best in the series.
My favorite page in the book. Spectacular.
I love the rare pen & ink Nexus covers. This is my absolute favorite, a beauty.
Awesome, one of my favorite Nexus painted covers. You have an amazing Nexus collection!
Great idea and great execution. I'd be very happy with commission results like this
Great cover! Love the black and stars background, old school style.
Fantastic page! Loved that era of JLA, brings back great memories.
Great cover! After 35 years, The Simpsons stands as nothing less than pure Americana.
Awesome! Always loved early Mignola art, brings back memories of all those cool, old Comic Reader illos.
Beautiful page, Alex. The master still has it! Congrats on an awesome acquisition.
May be Starlin's as well; I saw a copy of it pinned near his drawing board in a video. No other vintage art around.
Love how the establishing shot draws you in with the black shadows directing you to the walking figures. And of course the close up of Axa and the slice through the water is genius, you don't even realize you are being tricked by this effect because the brontosaurai are so engaging.
An exceptional page, so well designed. I can see why it was featured on the cover.
Cool DPS! In case you didn't notice, the "scum" crawling out of the bar is Fixx from Dreadstar. Nice little Easter egg.
Yawn... what else you got?
Besides one of of the best Barry Smith paintings ever. Congrats on scoring your grail! It's a beauty. Color me green...
I used to own the last page Hunger Dogs splash. Marcus, you done ruined my day!
Anyhow great page, Adam, the best shot of Metron in the whole mini-series! Please keep me in mind if you ever decide to part with it. So you can share in my Metron regret. :)
What an awesome page for your first Starlin! I miss it already.
Great page, Tom! Very cool that Captain Marvel and Warlock stopped by to sign the treaty. By the way, I am pretty certain this page was inked by Starlin.
I believe this is a prelim. It's a complicated design and probably required some planning. I've seen the finished inked piece and it has visible pencils on it. But still very cool!
Great, my favorite painted Starlin cover!
