Description

I had been admiring Yannick Corboz's creations for about a year, and really really wanted a commission, but had no idea how to go about it or whom to contact. Then to my delight I discovered he would be attending this year's Lake Como Comic Art Festival! So I was finally able to acquire this gorgeous piece from him. I love every detail--from the figure's posture to the colours and background that make it appear as if he's standing on clouds.

When the piece was ready to pick up, I had left my massive drawing case back at the hotel, so for a short while I was carrying it around in its transparent acrylic sleeve. And I was asked at least six times whether it was me in the illustration!! Apparently, there's general consensus that the hair resembles mine. 😆 [Though last time I checked, I don't yet have wings. 😉 ]

I like this windswept look! The hair is definitely a major part of what makes this piece work.
