Description1996 Video Game CommercialKey Master Pan Painted Background and Cel Sequence of 3. The background is an elaborate piece composed of two large sheets of background board hand-painted in gouache. The overlapping background layer features meticulously hand-cut windows to create the effect of depth for the shot. The setup measures a staggering overall 39" x 18" inches. The commercial was animated by Takeshi Koike (Redline, The Animatrix) with the anime studio Madhouse, with direction and storyboards by Æon Flux creator Peter Chung.
