Description

As a teenager reading comics, I remember Stephen Platt arriving on the scene like a supernova guzzling a gallon of Mountain Dew. His early tendency on Moon Knight to draw muscles on top of muscles was EXTREME to the max. As he refined his work on Prophet, he epitomized 90's fun and excess all in a single, fantastic package.

His body of published work is fairly small for someone who burned as hot as he did so when I came across this partial splash from Cable, it was time to pull the trigger.

The story-telling is still very...90's. Panel 2 - Is he saying "whoopsie"? He goes from that weird spandex cycling outfit to full blown costume in the span of 3 panels with nary an indication how. But seriously. You're here for the story-telling? LOOK at that quintessential Splatt Splash (TM and C Eranga Devasurendra). THAT is all I wanted from this and man am I stoked to own this page.

Storytelling shmorytelling...we's here for the SPLATT BATT SPLASH!  Cool in that it's clearly Platt but a little more dialed down in terms of the musculature.  And BATT rocked the inks.  Big check of the collector list, E - congrats!

Not sure what you're warming up for there, Derek...BUT I do know it'll be 10x more extreme when preceded by a Splatt Splash!!

I don't know how to thank you, but I do know how to hug you.

No.

*Hugs*  Yes. Here we go. Bring it in. Come on. Pelvis to pelvis. Let's go tip to tip. There we go, the kids call this docking.

*hears knife stabby sound*  Is there a knife in my dick?

There's a knife in your dick, yeah.

Somewhere I have a photo from 1994 of Platt holding a 17 year old me in a headlock.  I need to find that.  In the meantime, congrats on snagging this awesome page!

Little know fact. Cable time travelled back and was the one who taught Kenny G how to play the soprano saxophone.

Marcus was in the lead for most off-beat reference but now my friend, you're in pole position!

Platt made an indelible mark on the history of Cable. I think this was a necessary (and awesome) addition to your collection.

Thanks, David! I only came across it fairly recently and relied on another friend's encouragement to pull the trigger. Glad I did!
