DescriptionOAX2024 Pickup! For as long as I've loved Jason's work, not having a published piece represented a hole in my collection (and heart). I look at guys like EricDLS and F M who have an embarrassment of riches on that front and can't help but be envious. That said, a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step - "Inbound now" Social/Sharing |

This page brings up a subject that always makes for interesting discussions. The influence of inkers on pencillers. We all know artists who we prefer doing their own inks (Bolland, BWS, and Art Adams are just a few for me). At the same time, the list of great penciller/inker teams in comics is long and prestigious. While all of my Pearson example are pure (and thanks for mentioning me by the way), it's for that very reason that I am so fascinated by this page. I love Karl Story's inking. Especially during the Gaijin days when he would often ink studio mates like Adam Huges, Brian Stelfreeze, Cully Hammer, Dave Johnson, Tony Harris, and others. Being so used to seeing pure Pearson (even with all his stylistic changes over the years), it's a real treat studying this page and trying to find any signs of Karl maybe trying to impose some of his own artistic identity with the inking. This is just a great page, basically two splashes in one. That top panel is more Jason to me. But that bottom panel with Wolvie set against all that gorgeous blackness is fantastic. Congrats on this beauty!

I fully agree with Eric here (and thanks for the name drop as well).
Story was probably Jason's second best inker after himself.
Spectacular page (that should be mine, obviously ;)

Agreed on the influence of Story's inks here! That top panel defintely looks more Pearson to me than the bottom. It's the rendering of Logan's arm hairs that throws things off for me. I would love to own an all-Pearson published piece some day becasue that would be the purest expression of the work.

I still got feelings about J Pearson
Your art’s the one to see
I still got feelings for Emma’s fashion
You got the Wolverine
Can you, can you hear me say
When inbounding closer
You keep going for page
'Cause it’s my mutie pleasure
And you drafts me so tight
I wanna love you always
His style’s inkin’ the line
Don't let go
Damn dumb Scott acid love
I still got feelings you are J Pearson
Don't let go
Don't stop at page love
Your art’s Emma for me

A fabulous looking Double Half-Splash! Congrats man, as the only one of the 3 of you willing to travel tothe con, you deserve to have acquired this one over Eric and Fred! Besides, how's a guy supposed to play catch up, otherwise?

Love this. Two splashes of pure neXt level awesomeness. And wherever Big Wolvie lands...I'm sure he'll leave a mess where he hits 'em. Congrats!

No question it's JP right when you see it. Dig that contrast of light vs dark large panels, and that subtle panel break by a falling Wolvie is a nice touch. Congrats, man!
