DescriptionWhen a modern master tackles one of the most iconic scenes in movie history, good things are bound to happen!Yet this one almost didn't. Here's the story. Soon after we received commissions from Eduardo last year, my pal, Ken Martin, and I started a back and forth on what we'd like to see him draw next. Which, in turn, led us to jump right back on his waiting list. However, when Nico Risso announced his dad would be taking commissions for NYCC this year, I saw an opportunity to jump to the head of the line. There was only one problem. Eduardo wasn't familiar with the characters I had in mind and couldn't get to know them in time for NYCC. That threw me for a loop. I'd had my brain zeroed in on this one idea, so I didn't have a backup plan when Nico asked for an alternative. Then I remembered a fantastic Risso commission of Indiana Jones fighting Nazi goons on the back of a truck. It was black and white perfection and begged for a follow up. So, I sent Nico a list of scenes for Eduardo to pick from and waited to see which one he would choose. I think he chose... wisely. Many thanks to Nico for arranging this. And, of course, to Eduardo for bringing this one to life with his mastery of positive and negative space. Size: 11x17 Social/Sharing |

You know it's special when he adds the texture on the top of the boulder instead of sticking with the pure black and white contrast look.

The piece is great, as is your use of Jones Franchise catch phrases. Congrats!
