DescriptionVon Randal - Batman '66 - Mystery Sketch- Prompt: "Adam West Batman '66"The Adam West "Bright Knight" '66 Batman is one of my all-time favorite characters. I really should've commissioned Bats much sooner than using it as a prompt in this year's mystery sketch cycle. That said, I was curious who would get matched up with this prompt and how this piece would come out. Ultimately, I couldn't be happier. Von is a force unto himself. He took the Bright Knight and made it moody and powerful in a way that one wouldn't expect. The piece is so detailed, capturing the essential features of the Adam West Batman, namely, the oversized batarang and utility belt, the painted-on marks on the cowl, and the snubbed bat ears. I love the shape/form of the cape and the splatter on the top and bottom of the piece to impart that Batman/Gotham grittiness. I am overjoyed with this piece. I might do an unboxing and send it to Bill - maybe he'll show it on the CAF update. Thank you, Von, Jiggy, Bill, and all the NCA crew. Von Randal - Batman '66 9" x 12" Social/Sharing |

What an original take! It's like the campy costume never changed over the last 60 years but artists had to modernize it, make it masculine. Batastic!

When Von sent me the scan of the completed piece, I couldnt be happier! I was so tempted to send it to you but we had to save it for the unboxing. Thank you Nick for the support! It is never taken for granted!

It is never taken for granted! You always have to leave it for the big reveal. It's so gorgeous in person. I am going to have to really consider what kind of special frame I want for it. Von really did a phenomenal job.
