I am so incredibly jealous of this piece. It's perfect to the character, the show, and it's so moody. I love using this moment and including her blaster. Capturing the unique architecture from that scene (which I believe was filmed on location in the UK) is great. This was one of the stand out pieces of late I saw. Love it. Great addition.
WERNER!!!! Great page Bill, glad you're restoring these all to CAF+
Thank you. It's really excellent and I think it's the only X-Factor Cyke in my whole gallery. I love when Drew goes big and bold! Everyone needs a Drew Moss or 12 in their collections.
“He piled upon the whale's white hump the sum of all the general rage and hate felt by his whole race from Adam down; and then, as if his chest had been a mortar, he burst his hot heart's shell upon it.”
I love this piece. Perhaps one of my most favorite you've gotten. Great pick up Newell!
Who gives a shit how long a scene is? What is this crap about the length of a scene!?
Totally cosmic! Matt A., is on my list - this continues to illustrate the imperativeness of commissioning him myself. Great piece Matt.
Andrew Drilon is such an amazing up and coming talent. To get him in the Mystery Sketch drive is a huge boon. He brings such a unique and refreshing style to the work. I also appreciate the undersung Hellfire Gala outfit here. Great get, Stephen.
I wholeheartedly agree Eranga! Josh's color work is so interesting and honestly unparalleled. I've heard Josh say he has no idea about color theory but he somehow taps into it in a very successful way. His 11x17" profiles are epic up close when you see the flecks of different colors. Total banger.
Now introducing the newest pitcher from Gloucester, Massachusetts, and let me tell ya folks, this boy's got a cannon for an arm. He's also a charmer with the ladies; he'll take ya seaside for an iced cream. Welcome to the reef, the STINGRAAAAAAYYYY!!!
GOATED Carl! Absolutely absurd. A crown jewel. Cheers, my friend!
It's an endless cycle. I fell into this with Geoffrey Blaisman. I got Bespin Luke, Jedi Luke, and now I'm waiting to get a Luke from the first film. Maybe X-Wing Pilot, or Yavin Celebration, or even Stormtrooper disquise Luke. Geoffrey takes the character and then picks the most unlikely moment to capture. It's an addiction, as you know.
Thanks Stephen! Not limiting myself to commissions as of late.
Oh yeah! I see it. A very undersung costume if I do say so myself.
Thanks Joshua, it came out so well. I would love to see more of Stephane's take on Luke.
If Marvel wants me to start writing X-Men books I will definitely make this happen. Thank you Kin! I love certain outfits and I don't feel beholden to match them with artists. I think the Astonishing Scott outfit is one of his best.
Technically, only the second OA I've picked up. I can't wait to see what else Matteo does coming soon.
Agreed. The negative space is definitely in service of the colorist, but the headshot alone was worth it for this one.
If you see it in person you really question how they did it all - it's so smooth and the gradients in the inking feel unreal.
I love that it's Scott standing off with the Phoenix, and Kitty is using her powers in a very dark way. The collage panel is so excellent. The split portrait of Jean really speaks to her duality of Jean/Phoenix as well as Good/Evil.
I hope I save some luck for next time. I may need to pluck out some eyelashes.
Yeah this feels like when I got the Manix as my first one ever. Mike is going to have to endure me fawning all over him for this at the next OAX.
Thank you, I saw Vanesa post this to IG while she worked on it and it got my excitement up so high!
Now you know why "I'm not Daredevil." I do wish she was my wife, lol.
Thank you. Funnily enough, my early Birthday present last night was to see ROTJ in concert with the New York Philharmonic. It's all come together.I may have to have Stephane take on Jedi Knight Luke now, too.
Thank you, Alberto! What I lacked in quanity ;) I represented in quality. I love this piece and I think it would make a great piece for all sorts of applications. Feels perfectly Star Wars for the games/rpgs/card art.
Thank you, Tom. For real, it was a banner cycle for Mystery Sketches. This was the first to arrive and it completely blew me away.
Kavi, isn't it great when you technically get 2 characters when they add the Sentinel? I like how physical the composition is, as well, the variety of armor/costume pieces.
Thank you, Tom. This one was a real surprise and I like how it came out. Might be new inspiration for a continued series.
"Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in." I couldn't resist this cycle. I think some other collectors are gonna come break my legs soon.
George is too kind! If anyone is tired of giving Cyclops pieces to Bill I'm standing right here. JK. T. Silas always does these striking pieces. This Cyclops is pretty awesome.
Sentinel entrails! All around a very absolute element. Thanks for checking this out. I agree its very fun!
I'm glad this is going to your home specifically! What a terrific piece from Mike, its such a haunting take on the J-man. Look how the wheel of fortune spins in your direction! Cheers my friend.
Thanks Carl! I really want to get a second piece so we can frame with it a river of pink slime.
Thanks CJ. It's even more incredible in person as you start to notice truly how densely packed the piece is.
