MIKE DEODATO,JR. CONAN THE BARBARIAN (SPANISH) #162 COVER Mike Deodato has been turning out amazing comic book art since the 1990s. This is an opportunity to own a fantastic painting of Conan the artist illustrated for an issue of Conan the Barbarian published in South America. Deodato is typically known for his pencil work for various Marvel titles over the past couple of decades, but here he demonstrates a high level of skill as a painter, working in mixed media on board. About Conan Conan was first introduced in the pages of the Weird Tales pulp magazine in 1932. 38 years later he made his way to comic books when Marvel published Conan the Barbarian #1 (1970). Marvel published various Conan titles for 23 years before the license moved to Dark Horse in 1993. In early 2018 it was announced that the Conan license is returning to Marvel! With nearly 80 years in the popular spotlight, Conan now clearly stands as one of the preeminent American adventure heroes and one of the most well-known to the general public. In addition to being a fixture within the comic book medium, it seems Conan is also destined to be continually reintroduced in feature film. From the classic movies of the 1980s starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, to his most recent incarnation in the 2011 Conan the Barbarian movie, the franchise is firmly entrenched in Hollywood. With Marvel once again guiding Conan's comic book adventures, don't be surprised to see the Disney machine get involved in a future movie franchise for the barbarian hero! About the Artist MIke Deodato has been providing fans with high quality superhero art for over 25 years now. After breaking into the industry in the 90's with a well-regarded run on Wonder Woman, Mike Deodato moved to Marvel and has had stints as the regular artist on Amazing Spider-Man and various Avengers titles.
