Description

"Arizona Waterfall" Original Acrylic on Canvas by Paul Wenzel (c. 2000s). Here's a stunner by Disney's 42-year veteran illustrator Paul Wenzel (1935 - 2022). This gorgeous acrylic on 24" x 36" stretched canvas depicts a majestic 8-point buck standing on a cliff overlooking a dramatic waterfall in Arizona. Wenzel joined Walt Disney in 1958 as a designer/illustrator for the Motion Picture Advertising Department. He worked on over 100 films including the OSCAR®-winning Mary Poppins. In 1966 Paul painted Walt Disney's portrait for the 6-cent commemorative stamp after Disney's death. Paul also designed nearly a dozen Disney Company Christmas cards. In 2000, he retired and moved to Prescott, AZ. His love of animals and the American Southwest became the subject of his work as became one of the leading Southwestern artists. The painting is signed by the artist.
