DescriptionAnother piece that I purchased purely for the aesthetics. I know about Godzilla and have watched a couple of the movies, but have never really followed either the comics series or the accompanying original artwork (notwithstanding Herb Trimpe's excellent artwork for that series). However, this particular DPS is truly impressive in both design as well as execution. Mixed media paints don't always work, but this one does - and splendidly at that. This is also my first Dave Wachter piece. Social/Sharing |

I totally agree, Duke. As mentioned, this is my first Wachter piece and I suspect that it will not be my last.

Wachter excels in textures and Godzilla is one of his most well known works. It's like Godzilla is charging up with all these quick jump edits in the small panels. This has the added blizzard layer of energy to further bring Godzilla into a bad mood! DPS format also has a sense of scale to stand this titan amongst the largest monsters.

Many thanks, Marcus. Yes, the DPS format makes this piece really impressive. And the word "textures" describes this work perfectly.

Whoa! What's happening here? Is this Godzilla in the Arctic?!? Regardless, I love the primarily green and white color palette and the textures are really nice. I think the most interesting thing for me personally though, is that I would never have expected you to buy something Godzilla related, CAB, so I'm glad to be surprised!

Many thanks, Rubén. Like Marcus, you have captured the essence of this piece perfectly with the word "textures". As you know, I am always open to new types of artwork, and this is one of those occasions.

Many thanks, Steve. It is not something I would have considered to be in my wheelhouse but it is very nice all the same.

Many thanks, Nick. And what a coincidence! I hadn't realized that a new Godzilla-Kong movie had just hit the cinemas.

Many thanks, Peter. This is indeed a cracker but what one could get in the past for the same financial outlay (even taking into account the present value of money) would be absolutely amazing. How times have changed! But we adapt and purchase what we love and can afford.

Many thanks, Eric. Yes, this is an exceptional painted piece precisely because it is so textured.

It's almost like a character sheet for Godzilla - beautifully rendered close-ups and a very impressive full figure. Great stuff!

Many thanks, Mikail. And such a perceptive take, if I may be permitted to say so. It would assist anyone wanting to draw Godzilla.

Brilliant 'Zilla page! The level of detail is fantastic! This page brings back fond memories of sitting in front of the television at 3am to watch Gozilla movies.

Many thanks, Hart. Yes, the level of detail is indeed fantastic - and all the more that it has been achieved in color as well.

The full figure of Godzilla is beautifully set off by the inlay panels focusing on specifics of the encroaching lizard. The colors are beautifully executed. A perfect Godzilla page.
