DescriptionFrom the Story "The Jack of Hearts is wild. Great Early Jack of Hearts Appearance. Jack of Hearts tries to subdue the hulk but actually knocks him onto a crowded pier. he then finds out how tuff the hulk really is. Boy I remember seeing that Great cover (by Buckler +Chan) on the spinner rack at my local drug store. I loved the character Jack of Hearts (yes and that cool costume.) making his first cover appearance, taking on the Jade giant. this was a prime run on the hulk title and on of my top reads. I am very happy to have this great fight page beautifully laid out By Sal Buscema with inks by the great Ernie Chan. I have been looking for any page from this book for over ten years. Now I have one of the best fight scenes in the book.Social/Sharing |

Oh wow, what a page, huge congrats! Probably don't need me to say it but in this hobby, ten years to add a dream page is worth it.

Thanks. You are right, most artists avoid drawing him like the plague. I think it's one of the better costumes.

Hearts afire! Most people love the look of Jack and don't know what his powerset is and what his powerlevels are, so a battle page against the Hulk goes a long way to how his limits and how he would approach a fight against brute strength.

For a very early appearance he held his own against the hulk.

I have always had a soft spot for Jack of Hearts and this has Hulk too in a battle page. Great stuff.

Great page from Sal's spectacular Hulk run. Congrats on finding such a sweet example from this issue. Can't imagine it gets any better for a Jack of Hearts fan. Love the exciting action throughout and some really nice detail in that middle panel.

Great page from Sal's classic run. Jack of Hearts' uniform is hardly believable and yet it works visually. Great character!

Agree 100 % Carlo. That costume would be to big and bulky to fight in but as you said it is visually stunning.

Great page and great shots of both heroes--sometimes I forgot that Chan inked Sal B on some of these issues, they're a great combo here. Congrats!

Yes sal did a nice job conveying the action between the two power houses. Ann Chan is one of the unsung artists of that time.

Pages from the entire Buscema/Chan Hulk run have ALWAYS been in short supply within the hobby, so not only did you pull off a coup in acquirign this, but it is a phenomenal, action packed example to boot! Kudos, my friend!
