DescriptionI am not familiar with George Tuska's work in the pre-hero era. To me, his work is associated with his run on Iron Man, where he contributed a mix between Kirby's bulky anatomy and Colan's dynamic storytelling. This page shows an action-packed confrontation with Iron Man's archenemy, the Mandarin. Tuska's pencils must have been a bit looser than usual, as Giacoia's inks show some quirkyness here and there. And you have got to wonder how the Mandarin grew body hair between panel 1 and panel 3 and 4! Social/Sharing |

Pretty fun action page with the magic vs science theme! The addition of the peanut gallery is great to show us how we should react to this battle of old foes!

Any page by Tuska (and all the more with both Shellhead and the Mandarin) would be wonderful. Many congrats!

Splendid George Tuska battle page! I love this action-packed page with Iron Man facing off with the Mandarin! Lots of pulse-pounding action in every panel as the two enemies battle one another. I love that third central panel where Iron Man really lands a haymaker on Mandarin. But the Mandarin recovers and in the final panel manages to soomehow set the armored Avenger on fire! This is what we comic fans love most--fist pounding action in every panel. Just a great Iron Man page from perhaps his most well-known artist.
