Description

The old Marvel Godzilla series had several zany plots and one of my favorites was when an alien race, the Betans , teleported Godzilla to recruit him to fight other monsters controlled by their arch enemy, the Megans. This story was slightly inspired by the old 1965 Toho movie, "Invasion of Astro-Monster" where aliens borrowed Godzilla to fight an alien Monster, King Ghidorah. Of course Marvel did not have the rights to the stable of other Toho monsters so they created their own monsters for Godzilla to fight. What ensued lasted thru issue 14 and contained some of the best kaiju fighting in the series

This page certainly doesn't have any action but helps sets the stage for the next 2 issues.

It was such a fun time seeing the movie monster that we adored on Saturday morning syndicated TV weekly have continuing adventures in comics. A classic match up of the brute strength of Godzilla vs those who think they can match him with the use of science.

awesome to see more Trimpe pages from the Marvel run show up in your collection! I love that 1st panel of Godzilla looking at a "city" emerging and that 3rd panel is of course great too. congrats!
