Description

This is a beautiful painting by the famous Pater Sato (American, 1945-1994), best known for playing a part in establishing the classic 80s style in his work with Playboy, like his contemporaries such as Patrick Nagel. This artwork appears in the “After Hours” section of the Playboy Magazine publication from January of 1989, the special 35th Anniversary Issue. This stunning piece was done in pastel on paper and signed in the lower right by the artist, and according to the back is a portrait of a woman named “Sue” and completed in December, 1986. Sight: 18 x 11.5 inches; Framed: 31.5 x 25.5 inches. PROVENANCE from The Playboy Archives. In Excellent condition.

Gorgeous Sato! As a collector of Dennis Mukai and Patrick Nagel, I also adore Sato's work especially from Playboy. Congratulations.
