Description

One of the things I love about Cobra is that deep down, none of them really like each other, made up of different factions that just don’t get along. Here, in the Destro mini series we see the birth of Destro’s rivalry with Tomax & Xamot, The Crimson Twins.The series sees them at war with one another, trying to take down each others company. Could it be Cobra Commander pulling the strings to pit them against each other with the intent to weaken both so that they are easier to incorporate into Cobra?

I love that this cover represents Destro’s paranoia. He’s been led to believe the Twins are behind the attacks on his company, M.A.R.S. Industry. So we see the attack on his business represented by the half destroyed Battle Android Troopers (B.A.T.) and the Twins shown literally behind the destruction. Just a really well thought out composition that speaks to the heart of what this series is all about!

Absolutely love those damaged B.A.T.S. and how they remind me of T-800 Terminators. Just a really fun, visually interesting & story representative cover!

...sometimes he's wears a gold mask, he's a man who loves a good costume change! It's all about accessorizing for the right occasion! (But they do talk about why he wears rhe mask in the series).

Those backup dancers are cool! You can feel that they have Ray Harryhausen movements behind Destro!

They're reanimating just so they can grab some guitars and sway to the music as if they were backing up Robert Palmer!

I also love that those reactivated half destroyed zombie like Android troopers are actually in the book! Imagine that, a cover that alludes to the story & is also drawn by the interior artist of that issue...in 2024! A rarity!
