DescriptionI was rearranging some portfolios after OAX and realized I had never posted this one to CAF. The Energon Universe titles have been a focus of mine this past year, and will likely continue in 2025. It’s been a blast revisiting these nostalgic characters in a fresh new light.A highlight of the Destro mini series was the antagonist relationship between Destro & The Crimson Twins. Issue 2 was a highlight for me, I really enjoyed how the narrative bounced back and forth between these two future factions of Cobra and planted the seeds for the eventual tension within This page directly shows that the issue will be about both sides, showing how each responds to the increasing aggressions as they jockey to try to be the dominant weapons & troop supplier on the black market. The duality of their parallel paths that are forcibly intersected by an unknown external force…could it be Cobra Commander? The developing character dynamics & relationships have been so intriguing on the GI Joe side of the Energon Universe. Definitely being approached in a deliberate, thoughtful & entertaining way! Awesome page Carl! Seeing all your Joe related pages really is making me want to read em when I get the chance. Really enjoyed GI JOE:Cobra from IDW a few years back and always been a fan of the toys. Major congrats on another cool pickup!

Thanks so much! I've clearly been having a ton of fun revisiting these nostalgic characters in a fresh new light! There are trades out for all the series now, with hardcover books also coming out within the next few months so it will be pretty easy to get caught up!

nice on another Energon U add Carl, this is a great page that showcases the theme of duality when it comes to war and opposing sides/viewpoints. although war is never as black and white as it seems from the perspective of the parties who are putting it all on the line as opposed to from the neutral/impartial observer.

Well said man! An added layer I love is not only the Joe Vs Cobra aspect of those whole story, but the Cobra vs Cobra aspect of it. Many of these characters can't stand one another yet they unite!

With the twins in there, this is a three way! Very fun layout design making the point of their symmetry.

This issue I thought was the standout of the series as their back and forth was truly what it was all about. Their pissing contest was quite entertaining

While I often get tired of clichés in original art, one I don't seem to tire of is the hald-face design. The yin and the yang. The good and the evil, but sometimes also the evil and the evil. Keep in mind, Carl, the fact that you didn't even realize you hadn't posted this one actually means you don't like or care for it nearly as much as your other Joe pieces. Time to sell it! 🤪

Haha good point, it's gotta go! In all honesty, after talking about them in videos and spacing posts out as to not burden those who like to comment...just forgot to circle back. I'll keep your words in mind though & put this page on notice. Don't get too comfortable! 😂
