Description

My first time participating in the Comic Art Live! Mystery Sketch roulette. I requested a Darwyn Cooke New Frontier type Batman or GL and was surprised to see this powerful piece show up in the mail. Very different from my typical collecting niche, but the colors really pop. Definitely a way-over-the-top, gonzo interpretation of the Emerald Gladiator invoking a punk rock devil dog from his power ring. "HWMMFF!" Wacko fun, high-energy stuff indeed.

Cooke might have even had done something like this as the big bad wolf looks like those Tex Avery animation characters from the late 50's when New Frontier was set.

The detail that JP is able to get into the hound using only green and white, and in a compressed space, is nothing short of magical! Wow, great piece!
