Description

A pickup from the Fall 2023 Comic Art Live event, featuring Shadow Lass in the costume Barry designed for her during his run on the "Threeboot" version of the Legion. I love Barry's use of hatching and crosshatching here, and how he blended Shady's figure into shadows.

It was very exciting to see this piece pop up in my CAL preview email. When I first discovered CAF, I scrolled through page after page of art from Barry, who's one of my favourite artists, and this piece here was one of my favourites across the entire site. I'm very glad to be able to give it a good home in my collection. Thank you to Brian Mulcahy for putting it up for sale!

An exact quote from Kitson's character design for her is "You know we need a leather-clad warrior girl!", and I've always liked how that makes her come across as somewhere between punk and goth.
