An enormous thanks goes out to fellow Legion collector Aidan Lacy for gifting this page to me! He claimed it during Jeff's sales show and then very generously stated that he'd like to gift it to me, instead.

Being a fairly new and comparatively very young collector, it can sometimes feel like I missed out on the true heyday of comic art collecting, whether you view that through the lens of rising prices, or of limited art availability. However, the one place I don't feel like I missed out is in the community aspect. Even though CAF has been around almost as long as I have, its members have only ever made me feel welcomed and acknowledged. Aiden Lacy's generosity towards me is a prime example of how kind and welcoming older collectors can be towards younger collectors like me, and that's something I hope to be able to pass on to the next generation of newcomers once I've been around long enough to be considered an old collector, myself.

It's a great page, too, featuring no main Legionnaires, but three side characters who helped make the Legionnaires title so enjoyable. The first is Lori Morning, a young girl from the past who ends up staying with the Legion and discovering a "dial" (of "Dial H for Hero" fame) which transforms her into a different, adult superhero each time she uses it. Here, she's transformed into a hero with enhanced senses and a body made of pure energy, and is calling herself Plasma. Apparently Lori wasn't the most popular side character in the book, but I've always liked her, and I suppose if I were any more of a diehard collector, I'd try to get one page featuring each of her different hero transformations.

The other side characters of note here are Leland McCauley, a secondary antagonist throughout the series and a rival to the Legion's financier, R.J. Brande, and Amelia Crugg, a rogue Khundish warrior who ends up working for McCauley (and who, if you read between the lines here, might just have a bit of a soft spot for him). Leave it to Legionnaires to ensure that even the lives of secondary antagonists are worth following!

Moy and Carani spare no expenses, even on characters that technically only appear once in the series, like Plasma. I love the almost Kirby Krackle-y nature of her energy blasts, and how the energy is incorporated into her design as a ponytail.

Love that inking! Very shiny and fluid for Moy's characters to move about when all that power is dispersed!! Sweet gift to pay it forward to the next generation. Someday you will find an opportunity to do the same.
