Description

I am a big fan of Tom's work. I was actually fortunate enough t meet him at one of the Northwest Cons just a year or so ago. And unlike the artists that I have previously slammed for not bringing any art to sell...Tom had quite a few pages.

However, I do not recall him having any covers...and none nearly as sweet as this one. Sooooooo, I just could not pass up the opportunity to upgrade my collection.

(Besides, I didn't want to have to wrestle Ruben for the Superboy page featuring Batman. Gonna assume you got that one, brother.)

Whaaaaaat? What happened to "I'm looking to sell off the collection"? Adding to it is not selling it off. But no, you assume incorrectly. I don't understand why some people are suddenly bidding up the Superboy pages, but I'm not getting caught up in that nonsense. Think about it this way. Marvel is valued substantially more than DC. This cover features 3 of the most popular heroes in the Marvel universe while, my personal interest aside, Superboy is either a 2nd or 3rd tier DC hero and Batman guest appearances can be found on thousands of pages and don't get bid up like crazy. This is a cover, the Superboy piece is an interior page. This cost barely over $1,500 while the Superboy page cost $1,600. Which of the two do you think provides great value for your dollar? Hint: It ain't the Superboy page!

Ruben,

Good to hear from you. Yes, I have been selling off some of my pages. In the past 6 months, I have sold 10 pages to CAF memebers and came dangerously close to selling my Art Adams FF page just this week. Also, I have sold some pages on Comic Link...and have another shipment ready to go. But I guess I was having "issues" going cold turkey. So, every once in a while...I gotta get my "fix".

I understand your take on the price and types of art. For faaaar tooo long I have sat back and watched what was once a fun hobby, turn into someone's business or industry. Where is the fun in that?

Anyway, hope you are doing well. Let me know if you have any interest in this cover...and I will send you a message when I am ready to part with it.
