DescriptionIn 1994 I attended a convention in England and the auction was filled with respect to Jack Kirby who had just passed away. I watched in awe as this massive over sized piece went for a colossal total of £300. Far more than I could have ever afforded. But I searched and searched for this piece for years (16 in fact). It was bought by an artist that I repped for a few years, Jon Haward. He put it up for sale on eBay a few days before I was going to my first San Diego so I couldn’t buy it. All I could do was email Jon and say if it didn’t sell I would buy it on my return. Fortunately it didn’t and I got my Alan Davis. I love this piece. Social/Sharing |

One of my absolute favorite Marvel pieces that Alan has ever done! The entire image is stunning, but I'm really partial to the top portion. But again, every square inch of this is exquisite work.

Great score! Marvel and DC on the march! Davis used a lot of the Kirby costumes for the characters.

Jaw droppingly good. A show of both the quality of both Kirby and Davis.

One of the finest pieces Alan Davis ever drew, IMHO. A gorgeous array of Kirby's best and brightest creations. A veritable menagerie of superheroes and villains. My sincere congratulations!

This is incredible! You could truly get lost in this piece... often in these types of images you'll see some characters look great and others are given less attention by the artist; but in this every single character looks fantastic! And gorgeous inking by Mark Farmer--wow. Have you shown this to the folks at the Jack Kirby Collector mag? Would think this would be right up their alley!

This one is on a different level, even for Alan. Galactus' expression of forlorn aloofness is haunting. Mezmerising stuff.

16 years and the hunt is over! SO much to pore over, particularly in person, as I've sure you have :) Huge congrats!
