DescriptionNathan, May, and Branko have gone to the desert to seek the Hidden Spring. They are ambushed in a ravine by men and dinosaurs. The dialogue from pages 144-148: “End of the line for our Jeep. The canyon ends at this wall.” “We can continue on foot, but there are several paths that enter the canyon. Which one should we follow?” “Impossible to know. Let's take the central path; it’s the easiest, then we'll see.” “Here, let’s use the light globes. They'll make things easier. I don't know what to expect. An entrance in the rock... or a shaft that goes down to who knows where.” “Powell's data didn't indicate any details about it. But we're close.” “There's something wrong. I can feel it in the air...” “But what?” “They're coming from above!” “It's an ambush!” (May blocks an attack and then clocks her attacker.) (A dino menaces May.) “Nuts, where did this thing come from? Aaaah!” “I’m here, May!” (Branko throws an axe, felling the creature.) “Now stop your comrades, or it'll be your turn next! We are Alfa Agents!’ (One of the attackers) “Alfa Agents, you say?” “That's right. Now don't make me repeat myself. Yell at your people to calm down!” “Everyone stop. They’re from the Alfa Agency!” You can see from the pencil header that the working title of this story was "Death Valley." This page was drawn in January 2010 and published over a year later. "143/150" refers to the story page number (starting with 1) and the expected published page number (assuming that the published story would begin on page 8 of the issue). In actuality, there were only four pages before the first page, counting both sides of the front cover as Italians do, so this ended up as page 147. This is the norm for Bonelli books, though I have seen some in which the story started on page 3. Social/Sharing |
