Magik quick pencil sketch by Rachta Lin

This was a quick pencil sketch of Magik from New Mutants by Manga artist Rachta Lin whom I'm a big fan/supporter of.

This was a reward for contributing to the crowdfunding campaign for her annual art-book (see additional images for the cover of the book), 2020 Artist Journey of Rachta Lin. A separate commission piece she did for me of Harajuku inspired Marilyn Monroe was published in the art-book with a full page spread which was a cool bonus for me as well!

The pencil sketch itself was done on the inside of my copy of the art-book as she built in an opening sketch page for that reason for fans.

Thats why there's a shadow on the left side of the scan (I tried cropping it as best as I could to minimize that, but I've never scanned pieces done inside of another book before).

That's a very well thought out art book and campaign to have that built in sketch option.

I resolved to call her up
Commission pieces for an art day
And ask her if she'll draw for me
Some old-fashioned way

But my silent fears have gripped me
Long before I reach the phone
Long before my tongue has tripped me
Must I always be alone

Every little thing she does is Magik
Everything she draws I pick up at the con
Even though my sketches before were tragic
Now I know my love for art goes on

Always FUN to get a little bonus sketch inside an art book, isn't it? Some might even call it magikal!
