DescriptionStar Wars: Droids: The Adventures of R2-D2 and C-3POAnimated Series, Animation Illustration (pencils) of R2-D2, Color Key & First In Sequence Episode 11, The Roon Games Produced/Animated by Nelvana Limited (on behalf of Lucasfilm Animation) Episode 11 Directed by Ken Stephenson & Raymond Jafelice Episode 11 Story by Ben Burtt Episode 11 Teleplay by Gordon Kent & Peter Sauder Airdate: November 16, 1985 What makes this illustration different than the previous one I posted (besides that it's R2-D2 only without C-3PO) is that it also acts as a color key and first in a sequence of illustrations, as designated by the color notations (and color in general) and the circled notation of R-1 at the bottom right. I think I got that explanation right...hopefully. "Star Wars: Droids: The Adventures of R2-D2 and C-3PO" is a 1985 animated television series spin off from the original Star Wars trilogy. It focuses on the exploits of droids R2-D2 and C-3PO prior to the original 1977 Star Wars film (A New Hope). The series was produced by Nelvana on behalf of Lucasfilm and broadcast on ABC with its sister series Ewoks (as part of The Ewoks and Droids Adventure Hour). The series ran for one season of 13 half-hour episodes, followed by an hour-long special broadcast in 1986 that served as the series finale. Anthony Daniels reprised his role voicing C-3PO in the series. Episode synopsis: Having escaped, Mungo, C-3PO and R2-D2 once again make their way for the planet Roon, but it turns out that they have not seen the last of General Koong, a de facto governor desperate to win the support of the Empire. Artoo, the true hero of the entire Star Wars saga! And thanks for the excellent info, often detective work is involved in deciphering animation production art purpose and provenance.

Hello, yeah it's been awhile
Not much how 'bout Luke?
I'm not sure why I called
But guess I really just wanted R2D2
And I was thinking maybe Vader's gone
We could get Nelvana for awhile
It's been such a long time
And I really do miss your style
I'm not talking 'bout Qui-Gon Jinn
And I don't animate your life
But there's a warm wind blowing,
The Star Wars out, and I'd really R2D2 tonight.
