Another Halloween theme friendly page here with the first appearance of a Vampire/Undead Walker character from Spawn, named Wolfram.

Created by Todd McFarlane and Greg Capullo, he is not a major villain or character as he only appears in 7 or 8 issues in the series, but still a first panel or "birth" page as Jordan would say, in the page prior he appears in the shadows but is not visible...on this page he "comes to life"

I got back into reading Spawn a little during the pandemic and while I don't know if I could catch up to the 300+ issues that are out, a seemingly unsurmountable challenge unless that's all I read for awhile, it was a good reminder of what I like about the character and the title/universe that McFarlane created.

I stumbled into this example and I liked the image so much that I snagged it. Real Grateful Dead/Jerry Garcia vibes for me somehow as well, lol.

Was able to buy it directly from Greg and his wife Jaime, which was a nice process overall. Greg signed the art page on the back because his signature is so large he was concerned about it going over the art area. They also threw in a signed copy of the comic book as well which was a nice bonus!

Anything Capullo is awesome but this one has a couple nice images of Spawn himself! Congrats, man!

Marv Wolfman without Perez infuriated me during his New Teen Titans bexter series run. However, going back to the letter column in Green Lantern #144 where Todd wrote high praise for Wolfman's writing, I would say this is a more loving dedication to him.

Wolfram? Who's Wolfram? I see Spawn being attacked by a vampyric Jerry Garcia and nobody else. So what you actually have here is the birth page of Vampyric Jerry Garcia, which is way cooler. Jordan is going to be so jealous!

You know I had to head here to check out what the page was! Definitely a fun grab! I remember seeing this one on their site. I browse both Capullo & Glapion's sites and stare at all of the wonderful pages! Congrats on this one and I completely agree about him giving off strong Jerry Garcia energy!
