Description

This drawing has a funny story to go with it...Tex & I were in San Francisco staying at my art dealer's house and his friends toured us around the town, which is quite beautiful.. anyway to show my gratitude, on the next visit I "gifted" them each a Batman drawing, One friend kept his-( this being that drawing), the other sold his on Ebay.Funny story,huh?.......................(on the upside...I'm beyond lucky to have a friend and art dealer , who treats his friends like family, and to have people who seem to enjoy the artwork...the rest is just silliness)

funny in a morbid kind of way...selling a gift like that is kinda sad. ebay has seen many such transactions...i feel terrible for adam hughes each time i see a con sketch of his go up for sale,sometimes not even 24 hours old.

Superb! A fantastic piece! To add to the conversation....I have never sold a piece of art. I have given a couple pieces as gifts...and sad to say, one ended up on a dealer's table.

This is fantastic. You really get the sense of energy and the wind blowing as Bats gets ready to pounce. The best pieces are the ones that don't look posed, and this one really gets the blood pumping (even without a lick of T&A)

I'm with TC on this one. This is an amazing piece. Your drawings have been nothing but spectacular Michael, thanks for sharing this one with us. This reminds me a bit of a Neal Adams batman but with the Michael Bair spark! Great job!

Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! Only 3 people on the planet know how funny this story is to me! Anyway Mike, to make up for the callous behavior of this ungrateful gift recipient, I would like to officially volunteer as a GRATEFUL gift recipient of any piece you see fit to give me! Off the top of my head, there's a sweet Hawkgirl piece that comes to mind. Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! Classic story man! I love it.

Superb image. Love the out of focus quality of background elements. Really makes Batman seem even more vivid. You're always welcome at my place Bair and you don't even have to gift me with art like this...unless you really wanted to, I mean I wouldn't turn down a similar piece with eitehr Cap, Spidey or DD crouched on a gargoyle but really I'd never ask.

You're better than most of the pencillers you ink, and this is a great example of why I just said that. Incredible!

WOW! Great Batman. That face says a lot - mystery, and power. You can really feel the power in the hands. The simple shapes of the buildings ( knowing where to put the darks and lights ) are fantastic.
