DescriptionA Jamie Biggs Spidey snack.
If you follow Jamie’s work, you probably know that besides commission work, he also does a lot of personal pieces that he sells either on his CAF or on eBay. Obviously it’s a way for him to make some money, both in between commission gigs and also during (since, as I stated earlier, they tend to take a while). So it’s a way for him to make a few bucks while he’s tied up working on a long-term project. When this piece popped up on eBay, it’s not like I felt any financial obligation to Jamie, or even feeling guilty about taking up his time with my commission. I honestly just really liked what I saw. So I threw up a bid and ended up winning. Hurray for me! I really think Jamie has a great grasp on this character. Of course most people will point to the heavy McFarlane influence. But I really and truly feel that it goes way beyond just that. There’s a real consistency to his Spidey drawings. I don’t think I’ve seen a bad one yet (which is probably more than I can say for Todd). They’re always dramatic, dynamic, powerful, and (to my eyes) full of joy. You can see Jamie’s enthusiasm and his love for the character in every drawing. Ultimately, that’s the aspect of Jamie’s work that I appreciate most. So yeah, I probably could’ve just sat back and waited for my commission. But when I saw this tasty nugget, I said to myself, why not? And I’m so glad I did. Nothing beats a tasty Spidey snack. 0h, and just a quick reminder (although most of you probably already know). While this piece may LOOK fully inked, Jamie works entirely in pencils. Yep, no inks on this bad boy. Pretty cool, eh? My thanks to Jamie for his talent and skill, for always giving his best effort, for his kindness, and for his friendship. Appreciate everyone stopping by. Social/Sharing |

Absolute fire. After years of paying dues, I think Jamie can be proud of his work. This one here is a stunner. Congratulations :-)

Really great that Biggs made a name for himself and paid his dues! A body distortion pose and hyper details to celebrate the Todd era of Spider-Man.

It's not as risque as the famous manara, but still pretty awesome! Congrats!

well, Todd quit being a penciller long ago and it's awesome to see someone else going in that same direction... and also showing incredible skills!!!

Jamie doesn't get enough credit for his talent. He keeps McFarlane's Spidey style alive but it isn't a line for line copy. There is a lot of Jamie in his work too.

1000% agree! And I think that's why I like it so much. Because to be honest, I was not a huge McFarlane fan out of the gate. But there's a "personality" that Jamie adds to it that is uniquely his.

Crazy this is just graphite. Congratulations. I'm not familiar with the artist but do appreciate the NcFarlane vibes and his layout that really does the wall-crawler justice.
