DescriptionI have been wanting an example from the '70s Joker series for years. This series has a ton of nostalgia for me since I loved all the issues as a kid. The artwork from these issues is fantastic and this version of the Joker remains a personal favorite. The Joker #6 "Sherlock Stalks The Joker" -April 1976 From the DC database: "Clive Sigerson, an actor playing Sherlock Holmes in a theater play, believes he really is the Great Detective when the Joker hits him over the head with a pipe. Accordingly, he sees the Joker as Professor Moriarity, and goes on the hunt for him. The Joker, on the other hand, has set out to recreate some of the most famous crimes solved by the fictional detective and he is delighted to be confronted by the actor. On a couple of occasions, Joker manages to pull the crimes, outsmarting the fake Sherlock Holmes, but the Clown Prince of Crime eventually meets his match when Sherlock finds a vital clue thanks to his assistant, Watson, and captures the Joker for good." Brings a smile and high hilarity with Joker trying to outwit another famous detective! Off kilter camera angles and big action on the page despite Joker not being a fighter himself. Very rare to have a solo Villain title back in the 70's as it shows how popular he was. Novick and Blaisdell stay true to the design that still speaks to us today.

Like you, I can't get enough of this series. Very fun and very Historic...as it is the first time a villain got their own series. Congrats.

That's a great classic looking Joker head shot at the top right, and the page is just top to bottom fun. With the Joker connecting the dots to most famous Sherlock Holmes story to a Sherlock Holmes (or...is it THE Sherlock Holmes?!) laying it down..."nature provided ME!" :) Fun stuff, Daryl, congrats!

One of the earliest comic books I bought. I still remember the day at a neighboring city's open-air shopping center like it was yesterday. I was so excited when I saw it on the rack in Woolworths. I only had a quarter, so I had to borrow from my sister's boyfriend to pay the sales tax. He gave me a dime. I took it home and fell in love with Irv Novick, Sherlock Holmes and the Joker. What a day that was.
Congratulations on owning this gem.
