Look at that page! Look at the face in that last panel!! Joker was my first exposure to Irv Nick's work, and I fell hard immediately!!

Joker has the charisma and the presence that most villains don't. One of the first villains to lead his own book and that JLGL inking has that distinct flavor of a dapper gentleman anarchist!

Yeah DC always marketed The Joker series as the first time a villain had his own series. As far as I know he was the first villain from the big 2 to have his own title.
