DescriptionBiased but to me this page has pretty much everything you can hope for. Twice-up scale, good panels with the Vanisher from his first appearance, good team shot and even an action panel on the bottom. My first and only Kirby piece for the time being. Social/Sharing |

Great team shot with Prof X asserting command! These early issues set the tone for the teacher and students. Iceman in his snowball form is a treat to see. Brad Pitt being the Vanisher is a nice boost to the relevance of this first appearance.

This would do for me for a Kirby X-Men page. Wonderful stuff!

Sometimes we get a little numb to the historical signifcance of these classic pages--but think about the impact that the X-Men has had on the world of comic books and popular culture in general; and then think about how that franchise traces back through 60+ years and millions of pages, back to 1963 when it was all new, and there had only been one issue published before this one. Must be incredible to hold this page in your hands--and putting historic significance aside, it's a classic example of the unique and charming storytelling mastery of Jack Kirby. The camera flip in the last two panels is both sublime and so much fun!

Wow! Most collectors would have considered a Ditko early issue Spider-man page an impossible act to follow. But apparently you had nothing to worry about. Every panel on this page is a treasure, but panels 4 and 5 are absolute gems. Truly stellar.

Great Kirby X-Men example (from issue #2 no less)! That last panel with snowy Iceman is such a fun scene. Huge congrats on the pickup!
