DescriptionI have been a really big fan of Arik Roper's artwork, especially the album cover art he has done over the years. He has painted covers for bands like Sunn O))) and High On Fire, and that is only naming a few. He did Inktober this year and I jumped at the chance to get an original from him.I ended up getting #19 at the drop, entitled, “I've Got the Fire”. Here we see a wight with some heavy medieval vibes emerging from a crypt, and he is carrying the torch all the way to Los Angeles in 2028! USA! USA! Love the design of the wight and also the use of the white ink as the light source here. It works perfectly with the darker tone of the piece. Now for an original album cover next! :) Sincere thanks goes out to Arik for this guy. 6x9 on tonal paper Social/Sharing |

This is super cool! Looks like it came straight out of a D&D manual!

Spot on, the majority of Roper's work is fantasy and he really can capture that vibe in a unique way.

He knocked it out of the park with the light source and reflections. Super!

Very cool. Creepy, moody art with good lighting is always going to get a like from me. Congrats!

I like that he left it open to interpretation if the arm/torch he's holding is actually from his own right forearm and hand.

Delightful! I'm guessing this was Roper's offering on October 31st, in particular. Everything about it is unsettling, including the skull-face, arm candle, shadows, and tilt
