Description11 x 17 mixed media (pen & ink, watercolor).- First published as pg. 2 in 2000 AD Prog #1223 (2001) - Later collected in Button Man Book 3: Killer Killer, by John Wagner and Arthur Ranson. - Page included in the forthcoming Arthur Ranson Button Man Apex (Artist) Edition A less intense page from Wagner and Ranson's Button Man series than the one I posted recently. The third book of the Button Man series arrived seven years after the previous so Wagner and Ranson take some time at the beginning of the story to recap the premise of the series (see alternate images). By all rights, a recap page that is heavy on exposition should be one of the least visually interesting pages in a book. However, Ranson deftly interweaves action in the present day with a conversation between series protagonist Harry Exton and the friend that introduces him to the "Killing Game." Ranson's line is impeccable, as is his approach to structuring and designing a page. Social/Sharing |

Those kills and backers and weapons they chose
Rings and things and Button Man Book
Don't bury me in this "Arry
Take me where you see crossbows
Let's move John to write Exton
Where they love a pal by the game that he chose

The acting of the talking man is really well done and the layout with the forest scenes is interesting.

Great expressions throughout! Nice combo of realistic likenesses with muted colors. Middle right there is Mel Gibson, right?! Congrats!
