DescriptionThe Dracula Park project has a secret benefactor: “The castle, you see, has not always belonged to the Vlatna family. It was originally built by another Romanian nobleman… And one of his descendants has kindly provided us with this precious model and copies of the plans.” “Incredible. I imagine – uhm – that he was handsomely rewarded.” “He did not ask for a monetary payment. It was enough for him, he said, to see his ancestral castle rise from the ashes.” “Nice, this Romanian aristocrat. Will you introduce me to him, Radu?” “Of course, Herr Brand. He also set another simple condition… that the portrait of his ancestor take its rightful place on the walls of the castle. Here it is! What do you think, Herr Brand?” (It's Draka.) “Huh! I think he has the right physique du rôle for the environment, dear Radu. If this gentleman were still among us, I would ask him to impersonate a prince of vampires.” Loads of dramatic irony; small wonder that Draka's portrait is suitable to hang in a vampire castle. Later in a bedchamber, Sylvaine is frustrated by how ghastly she looks in the mirror: “I must be tired. Try as I might, I can't get rid of these horrible dark circles. In fact, I have the unpleasant feeling that my eyes are getting deeper and deeper. It must be an optical illusion, due to the dim light in this gloomy bedroom. I can't see enough to put on any decent makeup. Maybe if I move the lit candelabra closer to the mirror. Yes, that’s better… at least…” Social/Sharing |

Castle lighting puts years on the face. She's just desperate enough to stay forever young by being turned to a vampire. I think the theme park idea may be all wrong and they should turn this into a spa where they can make more money by keeping people looking young.
