Description

Here is how Bill described the process of creating this piece, which is an enormous 18x24:

�I enlarged Neal�s pencils so I could ink them at twice-up. Neal�s new pencils were different from what he drew on the actual original Batman cover from decades ago and to me not as good as the original from 1972. Neal�s style had changed and the new drawing was more like his later advertising style. Since I wanted this cover to be as close to the original from 1972 I blew up THAT cover art and then changed the heads and costumes to be like they were on the new cover (like substituting Batman for Ra's al Ghul and changing Batman's face to Superman)
So I basically redrew the whole thing by making Neal's contribution really faithful to his art style from the actual original - I redrew and inked 1972 Neal with a couple of new patches by 2016 Neal.�
