Just picked up something truly awesome — the preliminary cover art for The Last Ronin #2 Cover A!

This early version actually has Casey Jones fighting alongside Raph during his rampage. They ended up going with just Raph for the final, which makes complete sense to me, since that moment is all about him going out on his own — a choice that ultimately leads to his demise.

Still, seeing this alternate take with Casey at his side adds a whole different feel — like two best friends taking on the world together. As a HUGE Last Ronin fan, it’s awesome to own a piece of what could’ve been.

The Escorza brothers are truly some of the best artists to ever work on TMNT and their style defined Ronin for me.
