Descriptionfrom the Joker comic issue 5 page 13(February 1976) from the story. "The Joker goes Wilde." The joker while trying to steal a group of paintings by the late Thaddeus Wilde that lead to a massive fortune, runs afoul of the Royal Flush Gang, who also have set out to steal the paintings. The Joker finally received a spin off series of his own in 1976 that lasted 9 issues. (The Joker would battle other Villans Lex Luthor.Catwoman, the Scarecrow to name a few. This issue is a personal favorite as he battles The Royal Flush Gang for a hidden Fortune. (Why they never paired them up is beyond me.) Great action as Ace, King,Queen and Jack battles the Joker, his gang and the police as to who will get away with the group of paintings that lead to the hidden fortune. As some collectors know, I am a big Royal Flush Gang fan and have been looking for pages from this book for many years. recently pages having been popping up on Heritage. I lost out on the terrific first page splash but when this page showed up, I knew I had to have it. I love the layout of the page as chaos ensues, especially the middle four pages captures the feel of the old Batman tv series. (all you need is a Pow! or SMACK) the page was penciled by the great Iry Novik (who worked on the batman title) and love the inks by Tex Blaisdell (who just adds the right darks to the RFG costumes.) I am very happy to finally get this great page from the bookSocial/Sharing |

It really IS agreat page, and what's better is that you now have a two page sequence with full blown action featuring the Royal Flush Gang and The Joker!

I think you got the wrong idea about collecting comic card art at CAX! But the joke's on us with how popular these Joker pages are regardless.
