DescriptionHulk #4 Pg. 1(Legacy Numbering: Incredible Hulk #478) Pencils by Ron Garney Inks by Dan Green Written by John Byrne The shadow of The Hulk appears to be falling in the skies above down towards a passenger plane in mid-air, transcontinental flight 1701 bound to Philadelphia from Los Angeles. Eventually in this issue, the rampaging creature causes the plane to crash killing all the passengers and crew. But is it actually The Hulk?...or is he under the influence of Tyrannus (yes, yes he is)? Bought this while I was watching the Original Art Show on THE EXP at some point awhile back. I always appreciate a "falling page", and this sort of qualifies as one. It was a very affordable page given the main character only appears in shadow. Thanks to Nicky B and the team at The EXP! This issue was later re-numbered back under The Incredible Hulk title/series as part of Marvel's Legacy Renumbering mumbo jumbo, to Incredible Hulk #478. And this issue/run was written by John Byrne too in addition to Ron Garney and Dan Green on art duties! Social/Sharing |

Nice storytelling to this one! I'm a huge fan of the Byrne/Garney Hulk run under that Heroes Return banner - great stories, great images. Congrats!

To me, this absolutely qualifies as a "falling" page and the fact that the only indication of it is a small shadow on an airplane, is a very creative way to fit it into your theme. I love this one!

Well, it started out as Incredible
Starting now as the Hulk
And the plane went down from LA to Phil
And the town lit up, Ron Garney skill
When Byrne is to write but I ain't got wings
Coming down he's the hardest thing
Well, the good old plane may not return
Dynamite sells and Dan Green with Byrne
I'm learning to fly (Byrne is to write)
But I ain't got wings (Byrne is to write)
Coming down (Learning to fly)
Is the artist thing (Learning to fly)

Great falling page addition to your collection, that last panel is great for Hulk size comparison and ominous pose.

Ron Garney is underappreciated. Effective storytelling here. All fall down. Congratulations on this pickup Kavi!

I feel like I'm really starting to lean into the Garney Hulk work lately...this is a great example!

Hulk vs plane - we all know how this will end. Great page - congrats!
