DescriptionDoom pages aren't always the easiest to find. I'm excited to add a battle-damaged Dr. Doom image and a title page splash from Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch's FF run. Pencils by Hitch and inks by Andrew Currie. I added a text overlay on a separate transparency as well.Published by Marvel Comics June, 2009. This one is 12 by 18 inches and looks super clean in person. Big thanks to Bill Cox for making this one happen! Social/Sharing |

Really solid work by Hitch on this run. A lot happened during his and Millar's time on the book. From this story, I recall Doom having to survive millenia just to get back to the present day. I don't remember whether this was ever picked up on by later writers or if the story was eased out of continuity.

very cool image of Doom on this title splash page by Hitch. And nice work on the overlay giving it more of the true title page treatment!

Whne presented this way, it looks like a propaganda poster for Latveria!

Can't go wrong with a Doom title splash! You get some damage and it's from a great run. Makes for an excellent addition.

-SUPER- cool page, George!! I -loved- the Hitch/Millar run on FF, and fondly remember this particular arc as one whose surprise twist culminated in an unforgettable expression of Doom's will (along with a pretty potent testament towards his hatred of all things Richard's, of course :) ). It's all present in his eyes here: they bore through you thanks to Hitch's strong composition (reminiscent of Zeck's Secret Wars #10 cover) and Currie's smooth, clean inks. The armor may be smoldering hot enough to burn away the outer robes, but that's usually a sign that Doom is just getting warmed up... (er, so to speak...). Fantastic, dramatic splash here, George (I just can't get over the eyes)! Mega-congrats!

I asked Bill about this and alas I was a day too late...doesn't sting as much to see it with you, G! Great face forward Doom shot by Hitch...down but far from out. Congrats!
