DescriptionThanks to Nick Dragotta for this very, very cool art: His first ever drawing of ABSOLUTE BATMAN. A secret project with Scott Snyder at the time under the code name "Batman AF". There's something to Nick’s take
I'm an Absolute beginner
And I'm Batsolute insane
As long as there’s Dragotta
The rest can go to hell
I Batsolutely read through
‘Cause the Absolutes are killer
With eyes completely open
But nervous manga range
Done with love drawn
Back spikes over mountains
As vast as the ocean
Just like shade films
There's no reason
To feel all the hard times
To lay down the hard lines
It's absolutely cool

Badass AF!!!! So glad Nick went to paper with this series (I'm sure he is too, lol). Congrats!

I love concept art and especially the first illustrations ever created of comic book characters. This one is intense! It feels raw, primal, and brutal. The posture, with Batman crouched low like a predator waiting to attack, instantly gives off a savage, beast-like feel to it. The exaggerated proportions, especially the arms and shoulders, along with the sharp spikes on the cape/armor, scream power and menace. It's almost like the results of Batman mating with a kaiju. Congrats, on the great gift, Felix.
