DescriptionThere's a lot I can say about this page. It's not only comic book history it's Wolverine history. The first time Marvel decided to reveal anything about Logan's past and how he came to be The Wolverine.I started reading and collecting Uncanny X-Men with issue #199 so I missed the first 2 BWS issues but I was there release day for #205 and boy was I blown away by the art. Fast forward a few years and Marvel Comics Presents #72 comes out the art was even better! Couple of things I really like about this page and what makes it stand out for me are of course the 2 panels of Logan knee deep in the Weapon X treatment and then the fact that the other 3 main characters of the story are all featured together in one panel and then they all get great head shot panels by themselves. Another cool fact is that this page is the first page of the story where they begin to notice Logan's healing ability and the fact that he might be more than human.... Never thought I'd get one of these pages and I had to let go of a great piece to help acquire it but after everything and holding this page in hand I think everything worked out the way it was meant to. BWS on pencils, inks and letters on this one. Social/Sharing |

The BWS style makes you think every story he does is a continuation from the last time you saw his artwork. This page immerses you into the storytelling with that familiar linework that is so unique to him.

Great detail and storytelling. That mini was possibily Windsor-Smith's best work

This is a MAJOR pick up. I remember how excited I was as each new issue of MCP came out so I could continue reading this story. Congrats!

I don't know if it happens with other artists, but there's something very special about being able to hold a BWS page in your hands. Not just a sense of wonder and disbelief. There's a sense of awe that you just don't get with any other artist. Congrats on this gem of a page.

Absolutely stunning page by Barry Windsor-Smith! Everything about this page is so well done. The story moves swiftly from the first panel of a discussion between scientists to a closeup of the head scientist, then a shot of Weapon X in the recovery tank, then a CU of the female scientist, then Logan and then a CU of the third scientist. Each of these scenes is beautifully drawn and inked. There's no action, it's just talking heads, but BWS draws it so well, he keeps you interested. The inks are superb throughout. What a fabulous pick-up, congrats!

Wow! Outstanding example from the historic run. Love how the panels and dialogue at top and bottom sandwich the Wolvie horizontal panel in the middle. Effective stuff. Congrats!
