Killer Darth Maul portrait! Some day, as a big Star Wars fan, you'll have to tell me why you think that Lucas had the terrible habit of quickly killing off the COOLEST characters quickly (Boba Fett, Darth Maul) and leaving the lames characters to stick around (Ewoks, Jar Jar)!

Lucas brought Maul back in the Clone Wars animated series and he also later appeared in the Solo film and the Rebels animated series (spoiler alert, sorry) so in this particular case the character has a MUCH deeper arc (including how he ultimately does die for good in the canon). And as for Boba, he returned in The Mandalorian and obviously has his own show now on Disney+ - so eventually the best characters seem to find a way to return, much like in comics...

Yeah, yeah, all I'm hearing is "animated" this and "animated" that. I don't care about any cartoons and neither do most of the millions of people around the world who have only watched the films. For people like us, the films are the entire story. Whatever happens in a cartoon 20 to 45 years after the films were released doesn't change the reality that Lucas killed all the best characters and leaves the lame ones hanging around. I mean, I couldn't possibly have been the only person sitting in a theatre feeling extremely uncomfortable and looking around to see if anyone else was having a similar reaction when Jar Jar began spouting off his first lines in some bizarre, pseudo plantation era African America/Jamaican jingo, could I? Ugh. Meanwhile, Boba appears for 45 seconds, slides down into the monster's mouth and it's over, while Darth Maul comes out for his first solo fight, loses and is killed quickly. WTF?!?

From female empowement anthem to a Darth Maul diddy...it's easy to see how you were inspired to sing after seeing this great color piece on CAF!  Such a wide ranging discussion in these comments --- we can all agree that this is a great character!

Very cool piece!  And I'm one of those people who screamed "f@ck yeah!" when <SPOILER WARNING FOR A FOUR YEAR OLD SOLO MOVIE> Maul appeared on screen at the end of "Solo" (okay, I was the only person who yelled it that I know of).
