DescriptionThe final page John Byrne added to the 1984 reprint of Fantastic Four Annual #1, renamed Fantastic Four Special Edition #1 (although the original name was to be Fantastic Four Classics, as seen at the top of the art).Nice shot of the Invaders! And he does a great job recreating the Torch shaving Namor scene, taken panel for panel from the classic Fantastic Four #4. When Marvel reprinted Fantastic Four Annual #1 in 1984, they dropped page 18 and Byrne created five new pages to bring the Sub-Mariner into the current Marvel continuity. He redrew many of the panels from Kirby's page 18 and incorporated them into his new pages. And he did it in an appropriate Kirby/Ayers style, so it would not look too out of place. Good job, John!! Not sure who has pages 18A-18C. Any guesses? Social/Sharing |
