DescriptionSomewhere deep in the sewers of New York City, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles feel a moderate draft in their underground lair...As soon as I began speaking to Derick about a commission idea, it became immediately clear that we both enjoyed seeing Spider-Man take battle damage, so that was easily a central theme for this one. However, the biggest surprise was the execution in regards to the amount of damage and how it was delivered! I did not expect to see manhole lids flying towards me, and neither did Spidey! Could not be any more devastating. Lots to love with this piece, and that starts with the magnificent color job. When you get an up close look at this, it almost has an animation cel quality to it. It's absolutely gorgeous and the colors really pop. I used CamScanner here because my normal scanner was just not doing it justice. The whole thing just screams 90's animated cartoon, but way more bloody. I thought Derick also nailed the character designs here. The damage on Spidey is layered and wonderfully colored, and Magneto appears as menacing as ever in traditional 90's garb. Love the face that he is making and his illuminated hot pink hand is an outstanding touch. Fantastic composition from Derick here as well. He did a great job at packing in so much detail right down to the web strands. The whole piece comes together to create a bright, dynamic, and brutal scene. I could not be more pleased with the end result. Later Spidey! Biggest thanks in the world to Derick for literally killing it! Sincerely appreciate this one! Oh and did I mention, he also threw in an Ultramega sketch cover!! Gotta love it. Give Derick Jones a follow on IG @skudsink Gouache & Ink 9x12 Social/Sharing |

This is what you get when you let Eli Roth direct your next Spider-Man film. Make it happen Sony.

I suspected this might be yours when I saw the character pairing on Instagram- these two are such fun foils for one another! Usually, we think Spidey's agility could help him navigate around Magneto's attacks, but clearly that wasn't the case in this day. Really fun commission, and awesome colors!

Absolutely bonkers! Is it just me or is there a touch of Invincible here - both in Peter's face and in the sheer amount of carnage being done? Either way, Spidey's going to need some of that ASM 100 serum before he goes up against Magneto again!

Where are those cosmic powers when you need 'em?! Eight legs could be of use now :) Dig the vibrant color work, T, congrats!

At first glance I mistook the arm as coming through a portal, as if Spider-Man was battling The Spot and I got very confused. After clicking and taking a closer look, I then saw the severed leg...
"Oh my stars and garters!" Poor Peter. He had a good run but that Parker luck finally caught up to him.

Absolutely gnarly. I love it. The falling perspective, the cape, the silhouette’d Magneto face. 🔥 No one messes with the master of magnetism, even your friendly neighborhood web head.
Living in and around NYC makes you realize that Magneto in an urban environment is really scary.
Derick is working on a piece for me, and his recently finished Cap, Winter Soldier, and Crossbones are incredible. I am jelly you got this wonderful Magneto/Spidey piece. I know everyone will be watching Derick's career with great interest!
