DescriptionI can't even remember how long I've been on the hunt for one of these pages... I would've loved to get my hands on any published Fabok piece, but this was even better. One of the pages that started this guy's rise to fame. Here's a quote from Jason's wiki: "Fabok's big break in the industry happened when David Finch asked him if he was available to pencil issues #4 and #5 of Finch's own mini-series Batman: The Dark Knight. Within two weeks DC had offered Fabok a two-year exclusive contract." A quote from Jason's blog: "Even though my worked sucked at first, I still got work because I was reliable. I showed them I could hit deadline and save the day. It's moments like that that lead up to getting the chance to draw two issues of Batman: The Dark Knight. Two issues that needed to be done in 8 weeks. Two issues that I finished and rocketed my career to a place I never dreamed it could be. HARD WORK PAYS OFF!!!!" Another quote from his blog: "Batman turned out fairly close to what I imagined but because of a super tight deadline for the whole team, the book could have been a bit stronger on the art side from myself. I think that fans looking in from the outside believe that the art teams have months and months to prepare a book but it isn't always the case. Because of the relaunch by DC, we needed to get these books done quickly and out on the shelves fast to end this arc and prepare for Dave's relaunch issue in September. This can lead to rushed pages from everyone on the team. There are pages I'd love to go back and fix but alas, I cannot. I was happy to learn that I could complete a book in less than 5 weeks when the need is there. Hopefully this won't be a common occurrence. Ryan Winn and Batt also did a killer job on inks. I am thankful for the opportunity to work on the book and here's hoping for more of Batman in the future!" And another: "For the most part, I'm happy with the book but just like anything I do, I see all the flaws and things I wish I would have done better. But that's the best part of this job, you can take your shortcomings, work hard at them, and come back better and stronger on your next project. Technically I've only been doing this job for little over a year and it's crazy to believe what I've worked on so far. I'm very thankful." Not a whole lot going on with this page, but I still love it. Another box checked and I'm as happy as can be. Social/Sharing |

Most people couldn't tell it wasn't Finch unless they looked through the credits, including myself. The style is consistent and this background story is just as amazing as the work itself.
