Description***Note: For both my posts tonight, I made a combined image of the original art and the published page because I think the colors are just so extraordinary and really enhance the beautifully detailed line work of Humberto. Please click on it to enlarge.I included an additional image of the original art alone that is a much bigger file size for better viewing*** In this issue, the four team members are zapped by Doctor Doom to four very different eras of history. Johnny Storm lands the furthest back in history. 521 million BCE. Before life evolved on land. Where the oxygen content of the air is 20% of normal. Which poses a big problem for any human, but especially one whose powers are based on fire. (By the way, how cool that the team's suits can give this kind of info). On the previous page, Johnny attempts to find oxidized metals in the rocks to heat to extreme temperatures in order to release oxygen, but it isn't enough. Realizing he has very limited time before the lack of oxygen has devastating effects on his body and mind, he flies for hours (days?) to find the Forever Stone. There he carves in the date and claims he is safe. What does this all mean? Stay tuned! Social/Sharing |

It's like that note Marty left for Doc. Someone will read it in the future and time travel back to that date to save him.

Any references to Back To The Future make me extremely happy, so thank you for that! And you are absolutely correct (as we shall see when we check in on the other team members in the days to come).

Johnny's actually writing "For a good time, call Johnny at.....", but he's suffering from hypoxia due to the lack of oxygen, so the prehistoric chicks will never be able to call him!
