John Forte - South Sea Girl Daily Comic Strip Original Art (Iger/Phoenix Features, c. 1953).

John Forte's art has exceptionally fined lined inking on this daily. This is "good girl" art at its finest, and in a daily comic strip!

In an attempt to keep some of the characters Iger and Eisner had created alive, Iger started the small Phoenix Features newspaper syndicate in the early 1950s, using the talents of the Iger Shop artists to produce such titles as Flamingo (Matt Baker and John Thornton) Inspector Dayton (Jack Kamen), The Hawk (Robert Webb), and this South Sea Girls by Baker (first period) and John Forte.
