I forgot about this. Marshal Law was out and DC decided it would be fun to put the same sensiblities into Batman. What a good time that was and barely a hangover after reading it.

This is a good example of while there is an epic image of Batman, the coolest parts are what is going on at the bottom of the page. I love the lower third of this page most!!

It says it right there on the projecting sign: FUN. O'Neill probably used the last bit of this splash to get in what he wanted if he was never going to get another opportunity to do a full Batman story.
