DescriptionThis piece was 23 years in the making. Back in 2002 I started to bring my first themed sketchbook to conventions. Based around my favorite, childhood character, Captain America, the relatively small sized book became my introduction to meet many Legendary artists over the years as they added their various talents to one bound compilation. As the pages filled over the years I became very aware that only a few pages remained after over 20 years. There was a short list of artists I definitely wanted in the book, but some on my wish list would be near impossible to get. On my short list was John Romita Jr since 20 years earlier his dad had drawn within these pages. It would be amazing to get both father and son in the same book. So for a few years I held this page aside for him until I had a chance to see him at a show. There were a few near misses as I wasn't able to attend some shows he was at. Finally, at Terrificon I was able to finally achieve his contribution to finish the 2 decade journey of this book! 23 years in the making, it holds works of many talented artists, many who are no longer with us. But each page holds a memory of the day I met each of them.Social/Sharing |

Awesome! The journey of this book reflects the journey of a dedicated collector. The Sr and Jr pieces make for great bookends of this story.

This is a great piece, Rich. The story of the book and it's journey is just as impressive as the book itself. And so happy you were fimally able to have father and son together in the sketch book. Congrats1
